Finding Out Where the Microphone Is, First Sketches

Finding Out Where the Microphone Is, First Sketches by the Ear Reverends Finding Out Where the Microphone Is, First Sketches by the Ear Reverends, is the Ear Reverends' first, "concept of proof" album. A collection of eleven songs and instrumentals written and recorded in San Francisco in 2002.

In November 2002, Finding Out . . . was made available as a limited release CD, that is now sold out. Finding Out . . . has not otherwise been released on CD or in complete form—and no future release is imagined.

Much of the music on Finding Out . . . may be heard as a precursor to the later experiments of the Wrong Notes Music 2004–2007 and Practices series. A number of these series' approaches and ideas were explored first on this album.

One of the eleven songs on Finding Out . . . is the first, instrumental-only, recording of Death is provided, one of the 20 pieces of Err or Man. Digital aspects of this recording reappear in the base tracks of the piece on Err or Man.

Some tracks from Finding Out... have been widely available on the Internet since 2003, and all of these are available here for you to play and/or download:
